Group Counseling

A Supportive Space for Learning and Connection

Group counseling offers a unique way to grow and heal — through shared experience, gentle reflection, and supportive connection with others who understand. In a small, confidential setting, participants learn about important topics, practice new coping skills, and discover they’re not alone in their struggles.

Whether the focus is on understanding anxiety, coping with loss, rebuilding self-esteem, or learning healthy ways to manage stress, groups can be a powerful addition to your personal growth journey.

What Is Group Therapy?

In group therapy, several individuals meet together with a licensed therapist to explore common concerns in a structured and supportive environment. Sessions typically include a mix of education, discussion, and skill-building activities.

Group therapy can help you:

  • Gain insight through shared experiences

  • Practice new coping or communication skills

  • Feel less isolated and more connected

  • Learn practical tools for everyday life

  • Receive encouragement in a safe, respectful space

Types of Groups Offered

At Sondhaus Counseling Services, groups are designed as short-term, psychoeducational series that blend understanding, calming, and integration — helping participants learn, reflect, and grow together.

Examples include:

  • Anxiety Support and Skills Group – Learn how anxiety works in the body and mind, and explore calming tools for daily life.

  • Companion-Animal Grief Group – A safe space to share stories, honor your bond, and find comfort after loss.

  • Self-Esteem and Inner Strength Group – Build self-understanding and confidence through guided reflection and practice.

Additional topics are added throughout the year.

Scheduling and Registration

Group schedules vary throughout the year.
If you’re interested in joining a group or would like to know when the next series begins, please reach out using the contact form or email info@sondhauscounseling.com.

Each group is held in a small, supportive format — spaces are limited to ensure a comfortable and confidential environment.
