I’m glad you’re here
It’s so nice to meet you!
When life feels like just going through the motions, therapy can be the space where hope begins again
MY FOCUS
Connection, Empathy, Collaboration
I’m passionate about supporting adults as they navigate anxiety, stress, life transitions, grief, coping skills, and personal growth. My approach blends empathy, open communication, and collaboration, while drawing from evidence-based counseling practices.
I believe meaningful change begins when you feel safe, respected, and understood. In a supportive counseling space, we can explore what you’re carrying, reconnect with your strengths, and work toward meaningful growth.
my values
-
Communication is at the heart of therapy—it’s how healing begins. When you feel safe to talk openly and be truly heard, you can start to make sense of your thoughts and emotions. Through honest conversations, we build trust, explore what’s been holding you back, and find ways to move forward. Therapy is also a space to learn new ways of communicating—so you can express yourself more clearly and connect more deeply with others in your life
-
Therapy works best when it’s a partnership. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you—offering guidance, insight, and support. Together, we’ll explore what’s working, what feels challenging, and what meaningful change could look like for you. Collaboration builds trust, encourages growth, and helps ensure that therapy feels right for you. When we work as a team, you’re not just participating in therapy—you’re actively shaping your own healing journey.
-
Learning is a powerful part of the healing process. In therapy, you gain a deeper understanding of yourself—your thoughts, emotions, and patterns—and discover new ways to respond to life’s challenges. Together, we’ll build practical tools to help you manage stress, navigate difficult emotions, and create more balance in your life. Learning in therapy is more than just gaining insight—it’s about developing the confidence and skills to continue growing long after our work together ends.
Hi! I’m Rovena
I’m passionate about helping people get through difficult times and take meaningful steps toward feeling more grounded, supported, and like themselves again. I believe that even one small change can make a big difference—it can be the first step toward hope, growth, and a new way forward.
I love both learning and teaching, and I stay up to date on current approaches for supporting anxiety, stress, life transitions, coping skills, grief, and personal growth. I’m also deeply interested in understanding each person’s story—the culture, experiences, and moments that have shaped who you are today.
I’m bilingual and offer counseling in both English and Spanish, so clients can express themselves in the language that feels most comfortable.
What I love most about being a therapist is getting to know my clients. I enjoy learning about what makes you you—what you like, what you don’t, and what brought you to counseling. Watching my clients grow, find hope, and experience meaningful change is truly inspiring. It’s an honor to walk beside you on your journey.
In my free time, I enjoy crafting, reading, and playing the NY Times games with my morning coffee.

HOW I CAN SUPPORT YOU
-
When working with anxiety, I focus on helping you understand what your mind and body are trying to tell you. Together, we’ll explore the thoughts, patterns, and triggers that keep anxiety in motion and learn ways to calm both the mind and nervous system. I often use cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based techniques to build coping skills, self-esteem, and confidence. Over time, therapy can help you feel more grounded, resilient, and able to handle life’s challenges with greater ease.
-
Therapy offers a space to understand what’s causing your stress and how it affects your body and mind. I work with clients to identify triggers and develop healthy coping strategies that fit their lifestyle and personality. Together, we focus on building resilience, emotional regulation, and self-care practices that promote balance and calm. Over time, you’ll gain tools to manage challenges more effectively and feel more in control, even when life feels overwhelming.
-
Periods of change and transition can feel overwhelming, uncertain, or emotionally exhausting. Counseling offers a space to slow down, process what you’re experiencing, and develop coping skills that support steadiness, growth, and adjustment during difficult or changing seasons of life.
-
Grief looks different for everyone—there’s no “right” way or timeline to move through it. The loss of a companion animal can bring unique challenges. This type of loss is often accompanied by disenfranchised grief—a form of grief that isn’t always acknowledged or supported by others. It happens when society minimizes or overlooks the loss, leaving you to grieve without the understanding or validation you deserve.
In therapy, I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly about your loss. Together, we’ll explore your emotions, memories, and how this loss has affected your life. At your own pace, we’ll work toward coping, healing, and finding meaning again—helping you carry your grief in a way that honors your love and your bond.

A cancer diagnosis changes life in profound ways—emotionally, physically, and spiritually. In therapy, I provide a space where you can process the complex emotions that come with cancer—fear, uncertainty, grief, or even hope. Together, we work on coping strategies to manage stress, strengthen resilience, and find meaning and balance through the journey. I also support loved ones and caregivers, helping them navigate their own emotions while caring for someone with cancer. My goal is to help you feel seen, supported, and less alone, no matter where you are in your experience.
I work with adults seeking support for anxiety, stress, life transitions, coping skills, and personal growth. My approach to counseling focuses on creating a supportive space for reflection, self-understanding, and meaningful change. I also provide counseling for coping with cancer and support following the loss of a beloved pet or companion animal.
